About Canvas Manager

There are two non-Workday Canvas roles that may be manually added to Canvas courses for users without being assigned in Workday:

Faculty Staff Support
Instructional Support - No Grades

Both roles will appear in the course roster under the People link. These roles are typically used for (but not limited to) support staff including Disability Resources, librarians, Program Coordinators, and Instructional Designers.

Please note that TAs, graduate, or undergraduate assistants, Mentored Teacher Experience participants, and any course audits must be added in Workday by your department’s Workday Course Section Manager to comply with FERPA and university privacy policies, as outlined by the Office of the University Registrar and school registrar teams.
